Privacy Policy
In short. Loquenza helps you practise speaking English. To do that we collect your account details, the short voice recordings you make while practising, your learning progress, and basic usage analytics. We use this to run and improve the service — never to sell your data. Your recordings are processed only to score your pronunciation and are deleted automatically on a schedule. You can export or delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
Loquenza (“Loquenza”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a language-practice service operated by [Operating Entity]. This policy explains how we handle your personal information across the Loquenza mobile app and the loquenza.com website. Questions or requests? Email support@loquenza.com.
2. The information we collect
Account and profile
Your email address, a securely hashed password, your display name, and the preferences you set during onboarding — your professional role, self-assessed English level, daily goal, preferred accent and voice, reminder time, and time zone.
Age confirmation
At sign-up you confirm that you are 18 or older. We record that you gave this confirmation.
Voice recordings
When you practise, the app records short audio clips of you speaking — up to about 15 seconds per sentence. See Section 4 for exactly how these are handled.
Learning data
The lessons generated for you, the phrases you save, your practice attempts and the pronunciation scores produced from them, and your streak history.
Usage and device data
How you use the app — screens viewed, features used, and similar events — together with basic device and diagnostic information, collected through our analytics provider.
Subscription data
Whether you are on the free or paid plan and your entitlement status. Payments are processed by the app stores; we never receive or store your full payment-card details.
3. How we use your information
For users in the EEA and UK, the lawful basis for each purpose is shown in brackets.
- Provide the service — create your account, generate lessons, transcribe and score your speech, and sync your progress across devices. (Performance of our contract with you.)
- Keep the service safe and reliable — prevent abuse, debug problems, and run content-safety checks. (Our legitimate interests.)
- Understand and improve the product — through aggregated usage analytics. (Our legitimate interests, or your consent where required.)
- Communicate with you — transactional messages such as password resets and important service notices. (Performance of our contract; legitimate interests.)
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms. (Legal obligation; legitimate interests.)
Where the law requires consent — for example, certain analytics — we ask for it first and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Privacy & data.
4. Your voice recordings — how we handle them
- They are recorded on your device only when you choose to practise, then uploaded securely to our audio storage (Cloudflare R2).
- They are used only to transcribe and score your pronunciation so we can give you feedback. They are not used for advertising, and they are not used to train third-party AI models.
- They are deleted automatically by storage lifecycle rules: within 7 days for free accounts and within 30 days for paid accounts. You don’t need to do anything.
5. AI and automated processing
To create lessons and assess your speech, we send the data needed for each feature to trusted AI providers acting on our behalf:
- OpenAI — lesson-text generation, speech-to-text transcription, text-to-speech audio, and content moderation.
- Microsoft Azure AI Speech — detailed, phoneme-level pronunciation assessment.
These providers process the data only to deliver the feature and under contractual confidentiality terms. Pronunciation feedback is generated automatically; it is meant to help you learn, may not always be accurate, and has no legal or similarly significant effect on you. If you would like a person to review an automated outcome that affects you, contact us.
6. Service providers we share data with
We share personal information only with providers who help us run Loquenza. We require each to protect your data and use it solely to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal information.

7. How long we keep your information
- Voice recordings — 7 days (free) or 30 days (paid), then deleted automatically.
- Account and learning data — kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data across our systems within 30 days. Copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups, which rotate on a 30-day cycle.
- Analytics — retained in aggregated or limited form per our analytics provider’s settings.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access & export — request a copy of your data via Settings → Privacy & data → Export everything, or email us.
- Correction — update your profile in the app at any time.
- Deletion — delete your account via Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account; we honour deletion within 30 days.
- Object, restrict, or withdraw consent — including opting out of analytics in Settings.
EEA / UK (GDPR). You have the rights above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the rights to know, delete, and correct your information, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children
Loquenza is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and the app is rated 17+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated data. If you believe a minor has used Loquenza, please contact us.
10. How we protect your information
We safeguard your data with encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords, and strict separation between accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
11. International data transfers
We and our providers may process your data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — to protect these transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Loquenza after a change means you accept the updated policy.
